Abrasion resistant steels and ceramic knives are now an established part of the knife and tool world, and this requires diamonds in order sharpen them effectively. That’s why we are proud to introduce Diamond Sharpening Films by Jende Industries! We have 10 grits available, ranging from 80 microns to 0.5 microns (180 grit to 30,000 grit), and come in Wicked Edge Precision Sharpener (WEPS) size, Edge Pro size (1″x6″), 2″x6″, 3″x8″ and 3″x11″. They are also available with PSA and non-PSA backing.

With a grit range that rivals that of some of the best sharpening stone series out there, our diamond films can handle profiling and repairs while bringing your edges to amazing heights of sharpness. Our films are also great for slip stone applications – they can be wrapped around dowels for sharpening serrated edges or the inside curvatures of turning tools, or used to polish the blade of old razors.
We’ve put together a few diamond film sets to choose from in order to get you started:
The Polishing Set includes one piece each of 15, 9, 6, 3, 1, and 0.5 micron films (1K to 30K grit), and is a comprehensive set that is geared toward general edge maintenance and regular repair work. Straight Razor honers will benefit greatly from this set, and those looking for shave ready knife edges will definitely impress!
The Standard Set includes one piece each of 45, 30, 15, 9, 6, and 3 micron films (320 to 6K grit), and is an “all around” set that can handle profiling and reasonable repairs. The 3 micron finish produces a mirror finish, and is “good enough” for most knife and tool applications.
The Coarse Set includes one piece each of 80, 60, 45, 30, 15, and 9 micron films (180 to 1,500 grit). This coarse set is meant for some more serious work, be it cleaning up scratches from belts or diamond plates, or for removing chips or reprofiling. The 9 micron film leaves a great “working sharp” edge that will hold up to abuse, and still do some serious cutting.
The Jende 2×6 Diamond Lapping Film and Jende 2×6 Acrylic Blank work together to provide a reliable system for precision sharpening and polishing. Whether you’re refining the edge of a kitchen knife, woodworking tool, or straight razor, this combination delivers a stable platform for achieving consistent, repeatable results.
What Is the Jende 2×6 Diamond Lapping Film Used For?
The Jende 2×6 Diamond Lapping Film is designed for ultra-fine sharpening, polishing, and edge refinement. Diamond abrasives cut efficiently while producing a highly refined edge, making the film an excellent choice for finishing work.
It is well suited for:
- Kitchen and outdoor knives
- Straight razors
- Woodworking tools
- High-hardness steels
- Precision edge polishing
The film can be used with a lapping plate or mounted on a flat backing surface, such as the Jende 2×6 Acrylic Blank, to provide consistent support during sharpening.
What Is the Jende 2×6 Acrylic Blank?
The Jende 2×6 Acrylic Blank is a flat, rigid backing plate designed to hold lapping films, polishing films, and other abrasive sheets securely during sharpening.
By providing a stable and even surface, the blank helps maintain consistent contact between the abrasive film and the edge, improving precision and repeatability throughout the sharpening process.
Why Choose an Acrylic Blank?
An acrylic blank offers several practical advantages over other backing materials.
- Flat, smooth surface for consistent film contact
- Transparent design that makes alignment easier
- Lightweight and durable for everyday use
- Resistant to warping and corrosion
- Cost-effective alternative to glass or metal blanks
These features make it an excellent choice for anyone looking for a dependable backing plate without adding unnecessary weight or cost.
Is the Acrylic Blank Reusable?
Yes. The Jende 2×6 Acrylic Blank is designed for repeated use.
When a lapping film wears out, simply remove it, clean away any remaining adhesive, and apply a fresh film. With proper care, the blank can be reused many times, making it an economical addition to any sharpening setup.
How Do You Clean the Acrylic Blank?
Cleaning the blank is simple.
Wash it with warm water and mild soap, then dry it with a soft cloth before applying a new film.
Avoid using:
- Alcohol
- Acetone
- Abrasive cleaning pads
These materials can scratch or cloud the acrylic surface, reducing its appearance and potentially affecting film adhesion over time.
A Reliable Sharpening System
When paired together, the Jende 2×6 Diamond Lapping Film and Jende 2×6 Acrylic Blank provide a dependable solution for precision sharpening and polishing. The diamond film delivers fast, consistent cutting and fine edge refinement, while the acrylic blank provides the stable foundation needed for accurate results. Whether you’re maintaining knives, straight razors, or woodworking tools, this combination helps produce clean, repeatable edges with every sharpening session.

Way to go tom. It’s about time. I’m looking forward to use them in my line up and the straight razor people will especially be happy. I use something similar on my ceramic knives and straight razors. Good job my friend. Jmbullman from http://www.knifeknutz.com.
Way to go tom this is a great endeavor, it show your hard work finally paying dividends on new products. If there half as good as the ones I use on my Ceramin knife especially and straight razors than there already a winner,
