The Jende Nanocloth Ultra Strop has made another appearance on Sharpco Knives’ youtube channel. This time it features the 210x70mm full sized 0.10 micron strop loaded with the Tormek PA-70 paste. The video goes through a dulling session of a no-name knife by cutting a bunch of cardboard. He then loads and uses the strop to bring the knife back to a usable state, scoring a 270 BESS, which is very respectable for nothing more than stropping back to life.

The Tormek PA-70 Honing Compound is rated at approximately 3 to 1 micron, which corresponds to a grit range of roughly 6,000 to 16,000. Jende Nanocloth Strops are color-coded to match the micron ratings of Jende Poly Diamond Emulsions, making it easy to identify different stropping setups. However, the nanocloth material itself remains the same across the entire range, from 15 micron down to 0.025 micron, so performance is determined by the abrasive compound applied rather than the color of the strop.

In this video, the sharpener initially uses the Jende Nanocloth Strop in a bench stone configuration before switching to a handheld approach based on personal preference and familiarity. The demonstration highlights the versatility of the Nanocloth platform and shows how the Tormek PA-70 compound can be used to refresh and refine an edge effectively. The result is a practical example of how Jende Nanocloth Strops can be adapted to different sharpening styles while delivering consistent stropping performance.
