Jende Industries launched their kickstarter campaign on August 1, 2019 for the Jende Industries Guided Sharpener – or JIGS for Knives. Their entry into the guided sharpener market marks the beginning of a new era in precision and ease of use to anyone looking to sharpen a knife.
Founded by Tom Blodgett, Jende Industries has long been a supplier of custom stones, strops and emulsions in the guided system and sharpening world and brings over 15 years of sharpening expertise to their JIGS design.
Developed over a two year period, the JIGS for Knives boasts Exacudrive micro adjust gear technology that allows controlled adjustments of the sharpening angle in 0.0125 degree increments. Their kickstarter campaign was funded within 3 days of the launch, and is expected to be delivered worldwide for Christmas 2019.

UPDATE (JIGS 2.0)
The Jende JIGS for Knives 2.0 builds upon the original JIGS 1.0 guided sharpening system with a focus on improved usability, stability, and precision. While retaining the Exacudrive micro adjust gear technology that allows fine angle adjustments, the 2.0 version incorporates design refinements based on customer feedback and years of real-world sharpening experience.
JIGS 2.0 continues to provide precise and repeatable sharpening angles for a wide range of knives while offering a more refined sharpening experience. Designed and manufactured by Jende Industries, it reflects the ongoing evolution of the JIGS platform and Jende’s commitment to precision knife sharpening.
The Jende JIGS for Knives 2.0 is an upgraded guided knife sharpening system designed for precise and repeatable sharpening results. Constructed entirely from stainless steel, it is weatherproof, dishwasher safe, and built for long-term use.
The Exacudrive micro adjust system allows accurate angle adjustments throughout the sharpening process, while the 10° to 26° sharpening range accommodates a wide variety of knives and edge profiles. A single-tool clamping system simplifies knife setup and adjustment.
JIGS 2.0 can be mounted directly to a tabletop and is capable of sharpening everything from small folding knives to 12-inch chef knives and machetes, with up to 26 inches (65 cm) of sharpening capability. The system includes five standard 1″ x 6″ sharpening stones, making it ready for use right out of the box.
